I am a waiter and I have to share my tips with other staff members. Is that legal?

Sharing your tips with other employees in a restaurant is typically okay as long as you know the terms of that sharing of tips agreement. The employer must make very clear amongst all of its employees who will get tips what the terms of that agreement is. Also, it is very important that those tips are not shared with employees who are not supposed to get tips such as a dishwasher or the manager of the restaurant.
